Closed beta

Download Versify

You're getting the current closed-beta build. The app is still named "Versify" for now — it's renaming to Lectrn at 1.0, but everything you're testing today works the same either way.

First-time setup

  1. Double-click the downloaded file to mount it, then drag Versify onto the Applications shortcut to install it.
  2. Right-click (or Control-click) Versify in Applications and choose Open — a normal double-click will be blocked, since this beta isn't code-signed yet. Confirm Open again in the dialog that appears.
  3. If macOS only offers "Done" or "Cancel" instead of "Open," go to System Settings → Privacy & Security, find the message about Versify being blocked, and click Open Anyway.
  4. After this one-time step, Versify opens normally from then on — until the next beta version, which needs the same right-click step again.

This is expected for beta software from a developer you know personally — not a sign anything's wrong. Full written instructions were also sent with the beta if you'd rather have them on hand.
